Recommended Bets for this Weekend's Football

The Premier League action will return on Friday evening with Newcastle United’s trip to Leicester City on Friday evening kicking off an action-packed weekend of football. Starting with Friday and most of Saturday’s games we at Compare Betting Sites we will be taking a look at all of the weekend’s Premier League fixtures, offering betting tips, team news and the best odds available on the market.

Friday 12th April

Leicester City vs Newcastle United (8pm)

Leicester City are one of the league’s most in-form teams and are aiming for a fifth successive Premier League win for the first time. The upturn in fortunes has coincided with the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as their new manager. The former Celtic boss has won as many league games in his first five games in charge as Leicester City had managed in the eleven games prior to his appointment.

Jamie Vardy has been revitalised under Rodgers, claiming six goals in Rodgers’ five games in charge. With three goals in his last five games against Newcastle, Vardy will prove very popular in the goal scorer markets. You can back the former England international with Bet365 at 11/10 to score at any time on Friday or 15/4 to open the scoring.

Match Odds

Leicester City - 4/6 (Betfred)

Draw - 3/1 (Bet365)

Newcastle United - 21/4 (BetVictor)

Saturday 13th April (3pm kick-off, unless stated)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Huddersfield Town (12:30pm)

Spurs’ Champions League win over Manchester City in midweek proved bittersweet after talisman, Harry Kane, limped off with an ankle injury. The England forward is likely to miss the rest of the season, scuppering Spurs’ chances of a top four finish.

Saturday’s early fixture against already-relegated Huddersfield Town will give Spurs an opportunity to steal a march on their top four rivals. Three points will be enough to move Spurs four points clear of Arsenal in fifth.

Since moving back to North London, Spurs have won both games at the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium without conceding a goal. Huddersfield Town are the league’s lowest scorers with a meagre 19 goals from their 33 league games to date. Spurs to win without conceding a goal is available at 23/25 with InterBet and could prove excellent value.

In Kane’s absence, Fernando Llorente could be given a chance to lead the line. The Spaniard is available at Evens to score first or 7/2 to score at any time with Betfred.

Match Odds

Tottenham Hotspur - 2/9 (InterBet)

Draw - 13/2 (Betfair)

Huddersfield Town - 17/1 (BetVictor)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth travel to their South Coast rivals with their Premier League status all-but-secure. Eddie Howe’s Cherries hold a ten-point advantage over Cardiff City in 18th but will want to bounce back from their disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Burnley last weekend.

Hosts, Brighton, are deep in the relegation mire but with at least one game in hand over all their relegation rivals they still have their destiny in their own hands. They have however lost their last three home games without scoring a goal.

Bournemouth are unbeaten in the last nine meetings between the sides but with four of those ending in a stalemate and seemingly very little to play for this time around, a low-scoring draw could prove the best value. A 0-0 draw is available at 8/1 with InterBet.

Match Odds

Brighton & Hove Albion - 13/10 (Betway)

Draw - 12/5 (Betfred)

AFC Bournemouth - 5/2 (BetVictor)

Burnley vs Cardiff City

A real relegation six-pointer. Burnley’s hopes of survival received a major boost last week as they claimed a potentially priceless three points. The Clarets now hold an eight-point advantage over Cardiff City therefore another win will see them all-but-secure their Premier League status.

The coming week will prove crucial to Cardiff City’s hopes of survival. With a trip to Brighton on the horizon, Cardiff could move out of the relegation zone this week. However, if they fail to win at least one of the next two games they will be relegated.

Burnley won the reverse fixture in South Wales however, that was their first win in this fixture in their previous 14 meetings. Cardiff City are fighting for their lives, 18/5 to win with Betfair could prove incredible value.

Match Odds

Burnley - 10/11 (Unibet)

Draw - 11/4 (Betfair)

Cardiff City - 18/5 (Betfair)

Fulham vs Everton

Already-relegated, Fulham, are playing purely for pride at the moment as the rebuilding job begins. Saturday’s visitors to Craven Cottage, Everton, are still in the hunt for seventh place and a possible place in next season’s Europa League.

Everton have lost just once in their last five trips to Craven Cottage whilst they are searching for a fourth consecutive league win; something they’ve not achieved since September 2016. The Toffees are also chasing a fourth clean sheet in a row, a sequence unmatched in more than a decade. InterBet are best-priced on an away win whilst they odds of 6/4 on Everton to win to nil will also prove popular.

Match Odds

Fulham - 7/2 (InterBet)

Draw - 16/5 (Betway)

Everton - 3/4 (InterBet)

Southampton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

A few weeks ago, this game would’ve been seen by many as an away banker. However, Southampton are rejuvenated whilst Wolves’ season seems to be fizzling out.

Although Southampton remain deep in relegation trouble, it is now more than two months since the Saints last lost to a side outside of the so-called ‘Big Six’. In contrast, the FA Cup seemed to distract Wolves in their battle to be crowned as ‘the best of the rest’ behind that top six.

Wolves may have beaten Manchester United in their last league game but in recent weeks they have dropped points in several games they were expected to win. Burnley claimed all three points at Molineux two weeks ago whilst draws against Bournemouth and Newcastle as well as a shock defeat to Huddersfield Town were all underwhelming from a Wolves point of view.

Match Odds

Southampton - 17/10 (Bet365)

Draw - 9/4 (Betway)

Wolverhampton Wanderers - 2/1 (Unibet)
